Looking for Staff Software Engineer to join a growing Enterprise Campus Software Engineering team with COMMSCOPE ,Sunnyvale, CA location.

This role demands high standards for engineering quality, and deep passion for customer success. Successful candidate will work on the cutting-edge campus switching and routing product line, and will be the ambassador for

COMMSCOPE engineering on the customer issues. Successful candidate will work on broad range of technology areas and will (become) a system expert in routing/switching platforms.



Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex networking issues in Campus routing and switching software.

Lead cross-functional engineering analysis for escalations, make code changes, and provide solutions to customers for the real production problems.

Interact cross functionally on matters that require coordination across organization lines.

Serve as the technical expert and leader within the engineering and in engagements with customers.

Understand customer requirements and translate them into engineering requirements. Design, develop, and deliver customer requested enhancements and features.

Provide guidance to TAC, and SE community.

Mentor junior team members.


5+ years of experience in switching/routing (SW development and/or SW sustaining).

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to grasp and turn-around problems quickly. Proven troubleshooting skills.

Excellent C coding skills. Thorough understanding of networking technologies, real time embedded systems, and high availability.

Thorough understanding and experience in at least one of the following technology groups:

Forwarding (L2 and L3) technologies, xSTP, L3 protocols

Platform (drivers, link level issues), infrastructure, PoE, EEE

Working knowledge and experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages (Perl/Python)

Experience with merchant silicon (Marvell, Broadcom) is desired.

Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills.

Good communication skills - written & verbal.

A Bachelor's degree in EE/CS.
