our fast paced Ops team is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing team in Richardson, TX or anywhere in U.S. (remote)

How you'll Help us Connect the world

We're looking for experienced site reliability engineer(s) to join our growing team . This technical role is focused on working within an Agile cross functional development team for application deployment cycle and production issues related to applications.

Provides direction and prioritization to the backlog and roadmap for our cloud platform while taking into consideration day to day operational escalations. Driving projects to completion will require solid planning, excellent communication skills and proper sprint planning and tracking through our Atlassian products.

Skilled at collaborating effectively with engineering teams.

Ability to simplify complex situations and lead calmly through periods of crisis.

Experience implementing and optimizing operational processes.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.

Broad experience in data center, networking, storage, server, Linux and cloud technologies.

7+ Experience in Linux systems administration, including monitoring, configuration management,

automation, backup and recovery.

Experience with virtualization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.

Kubernetes, ISTIO (service mesh) configuration and management.

Good SQL skills and experience with Python.

Configurating and maintenance of database technologies such as Cassandra, MariaDB, Elastic.

Broad knowledge of release engineering: build, integration, deployment and provisioning.

Specific experience with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon EC2 deployments and virtual machines.

Cloud architecture experience.

Strong fluency in Linux environments is a must.

Scripting and/or programming skills and the ability to develop custom tool integrations.

Integration between multiple systems using their published API’s.

L2, L3, load balancer, routing and VPN configuration.

Expertise using version control systems such as Git or Perforce.

Configurating and maintenance of database technologies such as Cassandra, MariaDB, Elastic.

Open source configuration of monitoring systems such as Nagios, Sensu or Prometheus.

Configuration of log pipeline technologies such as ELK, FluentD, GROK, rsyslog, Google Stackdriver.

Utilization of configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Chef, Puppet.

Past experience with IaaS or PaaS implementations worldwide strongly desired.
