Job Title: Information Technology Manager

Department: Information Technology

Supervisor: Vice President of Finance

Summary

Coordinates with Sarstedt, Inc. management to ensure the company's data, technology, and security are maintained and developed in accordance with current company goals and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as apparent or required by management.

Responsible for maximizing system stability while minimizing system downtime in relation to technical business systems.

Directs information technology budgeting, strategic and tactical planning, business process re-engineering, and database system strategy.

Oversees the successful planning and implementation of all business information systems.

Ensures the preservation and integrity of all stored company data, while maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

Researches and pursues company-wide innovations focused on lowering costs, improving efficiency and/or stability of the organization's systems.

Responsible for sourcing, employing, and managing contractual agreements with consultants and/or contractors required to complete information system initiatives.

Reviews, critiques, and approves the signature of legal documents for top management, when relating to information technology.

Develops and maintains information technology related company policies.

Assists in programming and database development as needed.



Performs technical service and support for the department's internal and external customers.

Personally manages and/or resolves issues of a critical or sensitive nature in relation to security, personnel, data, or technical systems, as requested by top management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises five employees in the Information Technology and Data Processing departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience required.

Advanced systems administration knowledge and experience.

Advanced programming skills in Visual Basic, PowerShell, and an SQL variant.

Intermediate to advanced project management skills.

Intermediate knowledge of software development methodologies.

Basic to intermediate networking knowledge.

SAP Experience preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.

Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases.

Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Access; ERP systems (BPCS and SAP); Project Management software; order processing systems; design software; and AS/400 programs.

Must be able to rapidly learn new software platforms and packages with proficiency, as well as keep up-to-date with new technological advances.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
