Job Description

HSM Solutions has an immediate opening for a Supervisor at our Triad Fabco facility. This position will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of production and support employees. The candidate for this role must be hands-on with strong technical skills and analytical skills. Candidate will build and develop a team for to produce specialty seats.

Responsibilities will include gathering production data and be key in the implementation of work flow, training, materials flow, work instructions, change management, tracking KPI and KAI to support daily production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans employees work schedules to ensure that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads while meeting both schedule and customer expectations
  • Collaborate with all associates to solve work-related problems
  • Plan and conduct regular communication meeting with associates covering Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery and 5S to ensuing Customer Satisfaction
  • Ensure all required JDE transactions are correctly completed in a timely manner
  • Make sure orders are complete for on time delivery
  • Make sure employees are following ISO System requirements
  • Review work for quality throughout the process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed to standard
  • Check (Bill of Materials) BOMs used against information contained in work orders
  • Evaluate employee performance, and prepare performance appraisals
  • Prepare and maintain work records and reports
  • Process the orders in order to communicate material flow, and follow up on rush, sample or shortage orders.
  • Check all equipment, tools, PPE to be sure all is in safe & proper condition
  • Check quality of material and monitor the status of orders
  • Expedite necessary orders through the plant
  • Assist in making sure all raw materials are ordered as needed
  • Relay any necessary information to plant personnel and assist the Plant Management in communication with support staffs
  • Responsible and monitor, inventory control regarding correct inventory levels
  • Assists in ensuring that department systems are accurate and in compliance with company rules, standards, expectations, and applicable laws
  • Assists in controlling significant manufacturing projects, and planning and scheduling departmental assignments, and setting priorities
  • Identify opportunities that best utilizes the department’s infrastructure and meets customer requirements
  • Assists in analyzing technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects
  • Assists in achieving financial objectives by anticipating departmental requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analyzing variances
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; benchmarking professional standards; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks
  • Monitor all internal systems for accuracy and compliance while insuring the disciplines necessary to achieve Company goals, strategic plans and expectations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 6 years’ of leadership in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/TS 16949 QMS System, Lean Principles and/or Six Sigma principles; with safety as a top priority
  • Proficient in MS Office application

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively present information one-one one, or in small group situations to other employees of the organization
  • Must possess all other qualities critical for managerial success including leadership, self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgment and determination
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information and/or records

Preferences (candidates with these additional skills/experiences are preferred in the role):

  • Experience with transportation manufacturing process
  • Experience with JD Edward’s software system will be considered a plus
