Job Description

HSM Solutions has an immediate opening for a Supervisor at our Hickory Bedding facility. This position will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of shipping/receiving and support employees. The candidate for this role must be hands-on with strong technical skills and analytical skills. Candidate will build and develop a team for to produce for this facility.

Responsibilities will include gathering and reporting data and be key in the implementation of workflow, training, materials flow, work instructions, change management, tracking KPI’s to support daily production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans employees work schedules to ensure that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads while meeting both schedule and customer expectations
  • Collaborate with all associates to solve work-related problems
  • Plan and conduct regular communication meeting with associates covering Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure all required ERP transactions are correctly completed in a timely manner
  • Make sure orders are complete for on time delivery
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and timely
  • Evaluate employee performance, and prepare performance appraisals
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and reports
  • Ensure material handling equipment, tools, PPE are in safe and proper condition
  • Act as the liaison between production and customer service
  • Ensure accurate inventory through cycle counts, and full inventory
  • Assists in ensuring that department systems are accurate and in compliance with company rules, standards, expectations, and applicable laws
  • Identify opportunities that best utilizes the department’s infrastructure and meets customer requirements
  • Assists in achieving financial objectives by anticipating departmental requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs; analyzing variances
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 2 years of shipping/receiving leadership in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Lean Principles
  • Proficient in MS Office application
  • Proven leadership in driving safety and manufacturing results

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must possess all other qualities critical for managerial success including leadership, self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgment and determination
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information and/or records
  • Some general knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures
