CommScope is hiring a Director of Operations - Inside Plant Fiber to be based out of Richardson TX

General Summary

Directs and implements the Global Operations’ activities, strategies, and objectives to ensure the achievement of goals. Focuses for short-term goals: on-time delivery, Inventory control and time to market. Supports Global Operations long-term goal formulation, resource planning and implementation of operations projects. Collaborate with New product Introduction technical team to guarantee early orders management and delivery commitment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the following key areas:
    • Directs the operations functions concurrent with:
      • Setting up the Operational strategy to help support business growth and revenue targets
      • Strategize High volume/ Low Mix products and locations, ensuring correct Capacity at a regional level
      • Leading and tracking with stakeholders Profit Improvement plans commitments
      • Shared accountability with Demand planning on Inventory actions and goals
      • Shared accountability to help plants meet On-time and Leadtime objectives
  • Manage and assist in coordinating effort between support departments within the organization (including Demand planning, procurement, quality and product line management)
  • Assess and assist in continuously developing the talent base within the BU`s operations to achieve growth and meet market needs
  • Coordinate Operations related projects (such as manufacturing footprint optimization, production transfers, cost reduction and continuous improvement efforts)
  • Coordinate needed support to operations areas through intradepartmental interface for smooth work flow and cost-efficient product
  • Working with Global Engineering in leading the implementation of new manufacturing processes, product and systems technology to meet the BU’s objectives
  • Participate in the implementation of advanced manufacturing technology to improve cost of sales and promote on-time delivery


  • Degree (BS, MS) from an accredited university combined with twelve (12) years operational experience with a minimum of five (5) of those years in manufacturing management.
  • Experience must include progressively more responsible positions in the areas of production leadership, operational excellence and total customer satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to work across a matrix organization to understand the needs of different groups, coordinate multi organizational efforts and build successful collaborative teams
  • Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build and motivate teams of diverse disciplines
  • Ability to drive change where required.
  • Demonstrates ability to think ahead and take action to ensure success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  • Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships and collaborate with people from all cultures.
  • Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and maintain the proper balance between meeting the business needs and managing the available resources.
  • International travel will be required in this position.
  • Experience in Fiber Termination is nice to have
