Imaging Technologist IV / Ultrasound / Per-Diem (Posted 04/13/2021)
Performs a variety of imaging modalities under the clinical direction of a Radiologist, Cardiologist, or Vascular Surgeon.
Education and Credentials Required:
Graduate of an accredited program of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Sonography. Registered through the ARDMS as RDMS, RDCS, RVT or Cardiovascular Credentialing International as RVS, RCVS, or RCCS with one area of specialty (Abdomen, OB/gyn, Neuro, Adult Echo, Pediatric Echo, Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, Vascular, or Breast). Effective July 29, 2016 newly employed Imaging Technologist are required to possess an Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Sonography.
BCLS for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association. If the BCLS certification is not from the American Heart Association, certification is required within one month of employment.
Work Experience Required:
Incumbent cardiovascular imaging tech must be competent in adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography, vascular sonography and surgical guidance within one year of employment date. Incumbent medical sonography imaging tech must be competent in abdomen, ob/gyn, neurosonography, breast, small parts, pediatric hip and spine, invasive procedures, and surgery guidance within one year of employment date.
Vascular experience. OR experience. Cross trained in another specialty area of medical or cardiovascular sonography.
