Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class provides semi-skilled heavy duty electrical work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of above and below ground electrical distribution systems. Emphasis of the work is on providing lesser skilled support functions to senior electrical lineman and supervisory personnel. Employees are required to work with high voltage electrical wires under adverse weather conditions requiring skill and care to protect the lives of employees and others. Work is performed under the guidance and direction of a senior or journey electrical lineman or electrical crew leader. Work is reviewed by the crew leader and is evaluated on the basis of attainment of specific performance objectives, compliance with safety regulations, quantity and quality of work, feedback from crew leaders, and initiative and dependability.
