CommScope is looking to hire a Senior Hardware Technician for our engineering team in Lisle IL
How You'll Help us Connect The World:
In this role, the incumbent will be immersed in a project driven engineering organization where under limited supervision, they will contribute to the mechanical and electrical construction, validation and verification of component, subassembly and final system assemblies of complex electronic products by employing excellent soldering skills for today’s component SMT and through hole technologies from assembly drawings and electrical schematics. In this verification and validation role, they will prepare, setup and execute electric, environmental, RF, regulatory and mechanical tests per approved and assigned test plan, follow written and verbal test instruction and retrieve test data and results in an organized and conclusive structure to facilitate engineering interpretation.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- High School Diploma and 5 years of experience in product development lab environment ordering stock parts and conducting design verification tests.
- Strong soldering skills of small footprint SMT device technologies, component-level circuit analysis and fault diagnosis skills.
- Able to read and follow schematics and assembly drawings in their final or early stages
- Experienced in the use of test and measurement electrical and mechanical tools like force and torque gauges, multimeters, Oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, environmental temperature chambers and data acquisition devices
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to lift, move around 30- 50 pounds and in excess of 50 Lbs. with peer assistance.
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
An Associate degree in electronics Engineering technology / equivalent two-year degree. Experience with HFC and fiberoptic networks. Exposure to TCP/IP networking. User or programming level experience with NI LabVIEW and test stand and /or scripting language. Agile product structure for Bill of Materials consultations. Procurements platform experience for part ordering. Strong verbal and written communication skills and high levels of awareness and ability to receive and process sophisticated verbal instructions.
