Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Support Engineer is responsible for supporting our critical broadcast video customers. This role requires individuals to work with a variety of technologies including Digital TV, Satellite RF broadcast, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, HEVC, HDMI, and Ethernet. They assist with on-site and remote diagnostic procedures to isolate equipment malfunctions and determine corrective action required to restore equipment to proper operation.

Support Engineers have the opportunity to participate in high level technical design reviews and validate functionality requirements for customer architectures. Support Engineers gain a strategic understanding of the customer’s application, architectural and technical requirements and translate those requirements into system architecture designs. Engineering network routing and switching architectures for specific applications. This role requires the creation of implementation plans, procedures and processes for deploying and configuring end-to-end systems at customer sites. Support Engineers also assist with system installation, upgrade, and service activities at customer sites.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and identify system-level Hands-on technical experience, in computer and networking skills preferred

Technical work experience in satellite distribution, digital cable, telecommunications, video systems, MPEG encoding

Data network routing and switching digital video routing, grooming, and transmission, telco and broadcaster applications desirable

Experience with Linux, OpenVMS, Unix, SQL, Juniper JNCIA or Cisco CCNA certification would be an advantage

Experience in network engineering, particularly TCP/IP, UDP/IP, Multicast, Routing, Switching, Network Administration and Troubleshooting
