CommScope is hiring an FPGA Engineer I to work out of Lisle, IL. We are also open to remote applicants who can work out of Illinois
How You'll Help us Connect The World:
As an FPGA developer, you will be part of a team that handles the design, implementation, and integration of key features for High Speed Data infrastructure products. There are many technologies you may be involved with including the latest DOCSIS Cable protocols, Ethernet interfaces, high-speed data links, and Digital Signal Processing (DSP). DSP is becoming a critical part of our design solutions and an important skill set to have. Not only will you be coding and simulating design features, but you will also be collaborating with peers across many engineering fields to learn, grow, and create outstanding programmable logic-based solutions. The FPGA engineer at CommScope plays a critical role in the entire product development sequence, though primarily a hardware position, a good amount of software skills are involved. You will be working closely with both hardware and software developers to define interfaces and functionality and provide support during integration. You will also work alongside other hardware, mechanical, and test engineers on circuit design issues including schematic review, I/O settings, power dissipation, thermal concerns, and cost. The engineering team is directly involved during initial product bring-up, Design Verification Testing (DVT), as well as end-to-end integration of the final product.
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Classwork and/or demonstrated experience in the following:
- VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog language
- Familiarity with FPGA/ASIC design
- Proficiency with software and scripting
- Familiarity and/or desire to become proficient with DSP methods
You Will Excite Us If You Have:
- Classwork and/or experience in the following:
- DSP baseband/RF processing
- Implementation of designs in an FPGA or ASIC, partitioning, timing, constraints
- RTL Testbench design
- Hardware development experience
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with Intel Quartus and/or Xilinx Vivado
- DSP Model-based design using DSP Builder, System Generator, or MATLAB
