Our R&D team focuses on the research and development of strategic products in the field of fiber optics telecommunications. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who has a passion for fiber optic product development to work in our Shakopee, MN facility.

How you'll help us connect the world:
Our Senior R&D Engineers lead multiple product development and cost reduction team efforts for release of new and modified fiber optic products by meeting project targets and schedules and documentation of product requirements based on industry standards. They build innovative designs of new components and assemblies. This position has growth potential per engineering technical ladder with additional engineering titles each with growing responsibilities.

Required qualifications for this position

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree with 8 or more years of engineering and product development experience including experience with design & test of fiber optic connectors, cable assemblies, and closures SolidWorks
  • Validated ability to deliver technical improvements to existing products/processes/services
  • Ability to travel internationally

Familiarity with International and Domestic standards (TIA-EIA-568B, GR-326, IEC-61753, etc) as well as hardened product design experience, exposure to harsh environmental and mechanical stresses and general knowledge of outside plant fiber optic architectures
