We are recruiting for an outstanding Senior Mechanical Engineer to join to our R&D team in Shakopee, MN. This team focuses on the research and development of strategic products in the field of fiber optics telecommunications.
How you'll help us connect the world:
Our Senior R&D Engineers provide Engineering leadership in multiple product development and cost reduction team efforts for new release of new and modified fiber optic products by meeting project targets and schedules and documentation of product requirements based on industry standards. They create innovative designs of new components and assemblies. This position has growth potential per engineering technical ladder with additional engineering titles each with growing responsibilities. International travel will be required in this role.
Required Qualifications for this Position
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree with 8 or more years of engineering and product development experience
- Strong CAD skills
- Understanding of design for manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to deliver technical improvements to existing products/processes/services
You Will Excite Us If You Have
- Experience with design & test of fiber optic connectors, cable assemblies, and closures and are familiar with International and Domestic standards (TIA-EIA-568B, GR-326, IEC-61753, etc) as well as hardened product design experience, exposure to harsh environmental and mechanical stresses
- SolidWorks / Creo experience
- General knowledge of outside plant fiber optic architectures
